N1 - Funding Information: Jaffer A. Ajani is a professor of medicine in the Department of Gastrointestinal Medical Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. His clinical practice, clinical research, and trans lational/basic research are focused on gastric and esophageal cancers. He has conducted many clinical and transla tional projects. He is the recipient of several grants from the National Cancer Institute and the US Department of Defense. He chairs 2 panels (gastric cancer and esophageal cancer) for the National Comprehensive Cancer Network.
