Abstract

Computed tomography (CT) scanners are integral components of imaging facilities. CT scanners are widely available and can easily accommodate biopsy procedures. The high spatial and contrast resolution of CT images can help localize biopsy targets almost anywhere in the human body. CT fluoroscopy, when available, can help expedite procedures and make the biopsy process more efficient. This chapter outlines the equipment, advantages, disadvantages, applications, and techniques used in CT-guided and CT fluoroscopy-guided biopsies.
