Abstract
Inflammatory diseases of the pancreas, particularly acute and chronic pancreatitis, are some of the most commonly encountered diagnoses in gastroenterology. Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) should be considered complementary to cross-sectional imaging that is often performed for these disorders. With the ability to perform precise guided tissue sampling and therapeutic interventions, EUS has an ever-growing role in the diagnosis and management of pancreatic pathology. This chapter reviews the role of EUS imaging and tissue sampling in inflammatory diseases of the pancreas.
