Abstract

(Stem Cell Reports 4, 226–238; February 10, 2015) Concerns have been brought to the attention of the journal regarding image reuse without attribution. Specifically, western blot data in Figure 1H have been modified and reused from data in Figure 6A in Gu et al., 2013 (DOI: 10.1002/stem.1322). In addition, histology data shown in Figure 1D have been reused from Figure 6C in Gu et al., 2013. These concerns have raised questions regarding the integrity of the article. The journal editors are investigating the concerns, including contacting the authors, in line with Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines and Elsevier's policies. The Expression of Concern will remain appended to the article until the investigation has been completed and the editors have reached a conclusion and taken any further action deemed necessary, or the editors have determined that they cannot reach a satisfactory conclusion with the information available to them.
