Abstract
Morphological type of disease and age are the major factors in selection of patients with acute leukemia. Important negative facts are that duration of disease and previous therapy do not necessarily affect the ability of a given agent to induce remission or prolong survival. As a result, new agents may effectively be studied in patients with acute leukemia at any phase of their illness.
