Abstract

The Morgan Welch Inflammatory Breast Cancer Research Program and Clinic at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is spearheading development of an inflammatory breast cancer (IBC) registry. This registry includes clinical, epidemiological, and imaging data; serum and plasma samples; and tissue samples. Data and samples are collected from two patient cohorts: (1) patients with newly diagnosed IBC who have not received systemic therapy and (2) patients with previously diagnosed IBC who have received systemic therapy, but have tissues available for IBC registry. Data will be stored in an IBC registry specific database, and blood and tissue samples will be stored in central repositories. Each patient will be assigned a unique patient number that will be associated with that patient’s data and samples; patient identifiers will not be included in the registry. Data in the database and stored blood and tissue samples will be available for institutional review board-approved research projects in the future.
