Abstract

Cancer therapies and neurocognitive sequelae are a burgeoning field that rests on the neurosciences and cancer biology interface. From pathophysiology and biology, it is essential to understand the pathways involved in neurodegeneration, which leads to cognitive impairment. These pathways are linked to oxidative, inflammatory, and genetic factors. The prevalence and severity of the symptoms impact on patients' quality of life. Mindfulness-based therapies, physical activity, probiotics, and healthy whole food diets such as the Mediterranean diet play a role in the outcomes of patients with cancer and cancer therapy-related cognitive impairments.
