Abstract

Gastrogastric fistulas are an uncommon complication of Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) surgery. Fistulas refractory to conservative management may require open or laparoscopic surgical revision, which can be technically challenging due to adhesions and fibrosis. Endoscopic repair of gastrogastric fistulas may represent a less-invasive alternative to surgery in carefully selected patients. This chapter discusses the pathogenesis and diagnosis of gastrogastric fistulas, as well as current medical, endoscopic, and surgical management approaches.
