Abstract
A Centrum-Medianum-Parafascicularis (CM-Pf) lesion greatly increases the frequency of an operant response reinforced by food-pellets in rats conditioned according to a VI-1 min schedule. On the other hand, this lesion seems to diminish the intensity and the persistence of a conditioned emotional response (CER) measured by the technique of conditioned suppression. The increase of the frequency of the operant response could have interfered with the conditioned suppression phenomena; thus this increase makes the relationship uncertain between this phenomena and the intensity of the CER.
