Abstract
1. Stage, tumor size, vascular invasion, depth of invasion, and size of lymph node metastases are important prognostic factors in carcinoma of cervix. 2. The role of histological grading as a prognostic factor is currently a matter of controversy. 3. Small cell carcinoma and adenoid cystic carcinoma are aggressive types of cervical carcinoma. 4. Verrucous carcinoma is associated with local recurrences but does not metastasize. 5. Lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma should be recognized as a separate entity because it appears to have a better prognosis.
