Abstract

Since the identification of the BRCA1 gene, genetic testing for breast cancer susceptibility has been incorporated into the clinical practice of oncology. During this process, individuals who are at increased risk are identified and appropriate risk management options are discussed. This chapter will review risk management options for individuals who are at increased hereditary risk for developing breast cancer.
