Abstract

We present a COMPTEL spectrum of the isotropic γ-ray background that was obtained through a very different technique than used in our earlier work, but the results are in good agreement. No evidence for the 'MeV-bump' is seen. Previously, we determined the celestial isotropic emission by first identifying different instrumental background sources and then subtracting these from the total background spectrum. Now we have fully utilized the COMPTEL imaging capability to separate the uniform celestial emission from the instrumental background (and the non-isotropic galactic radiation).
