Upper Gastrointestinal Toxicity Following Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor Therapy

This was the case with non-small cell lung cancer who developed severe anorexia, nausea, and vomiting with significant weight loss related to nivolumab. His initial episode resolved with intravenous acid suppression therapy and steroids, but he had multiple subsequent recurrences and hospitalizations on steroid taper. EGD demonstrated persistent moderate inflammation on multiple follow ups. Ultimately, the patient received vedolizumab and had complete resolution of his symptoms. Cancer therapy was not resumed given remission of his disease, and the patient passed away years later due to unrelated causes.
