Abstract

We present the cytogenetic analysis of a mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the minor salivary gland with t(11,19)(q21;p13.1) as the sole karyotypic abnormality. Our findings, along with those of previous reports, indicate that this translocation is an early and most likely a primary event in the development of at least a subset of these neoplasms.
