Abstract

Image fusion methods based on multiscale transforms (MST) are a popular choice in recent research.1 Figure 8.1 illustrates the block diagram of a generic image fusion scheme based on multiscale analysis. The basic idea is to perform a MST on each source image, then construct a composite multiscale representation from these. The fused image is obtained by taking an inverse multiscale transform (IMST).
