Abstract
The effects of EMG feedback and contingent cutaneous shock were studied in 10 patients with involuntary spasmodic activity of the muscles of the neck (nine torticollis, one retrocollis). The combination of shock and feedback was associated with reduced spasm frequency in the laboratory in eight of 10 patients, and sessions using these conditions proved to be of therapeutic benefit in six of the 10 patients studied.
