Bilateral testicular metastases from prostate carcinoma: Gray-scale and color Doppler sonographic findings

Although metastatic involvement of the testis is common in patients with lymphoma, testicular metastases from carcinoma are rare. We report the gray-scale and color Doppler sonographic findings in a case of bilateral multiple testicular metastases from prostate carcinoma. The patient's complaint of bilateral testicular tenderness prompted sonography of the scrotum, which revealed the presence of multiple bilateral intratesticular solid masses. Both testes remained within normal limits for size. All lesions were hyperechoic relative to the surrounding testicular parenchyma. They were well-demarcated from the surrounding tissues, and no halo was observed. Color Doppler study demonstrated an increased concentration of vessels within and at the periphery of each mass.
