Abstract
The case of a metastatic brain tumor that antedated the diagnosis of a small primary breast cancer (T1, No) by 2 months in a 38-year-old woman is reported. DNA flow cytometry showed similar clonal populations for the primary and metastatic tumors, but the metastatic site had a larger aneuploid population and a higher S-phase fraction. This unusual presentation may be explained by the faster tumor growth rate of the metastatic site as determined by DNA flow cytometry.
