Abstract

This chapter reviews principles of cancer chemoprevention and suggests opportunities for future research. Topics covered include carcinogenesis as the target of prevention, germline mutations, somatic mutations, biomarkers, mitochondrial genomic mutations, chemopreventive agents, and toxicity and safety standards for chemoprevention.
