Abstract
A 21-year-old native of India living in the United States for seven months presented with new onset seizures. MRI scans showed a left temporal lobe mass. Microscopic examination showed acute and chronic inflammation around a cyst with a pork tapeworm larva (Taenia solium). This case illustrates neurocystercercosis which is one of the most common parasitic infections of the CNS. It is often treated surgically, but can be treated with anti-cysticercal chemotherapy.
