N2 - Colorectal liver metastasis (CLM) occurs in a significant number of patients with colorectal cancer. Over several decades, surgical methods and chemotherapy improved, making it possible to extend the life of CLM patients. Currently, the multitude of treatment options and sequences make it challenging to choose the most appropriate regimen for each patient. The current review is based on available randomized trials, other impactful studies, and several national guidelines regarding chemotherapy and surgery for CLM patients. Amid the options available, it is necessary to emphasize the still dominant role of surgery in the treatment of CLM. Moreover, a multidisciplinary team approach is required to develop the best surgical and systemic treatment plans for the many CLM patients that do not fall under general guidelines.
