Abstract
Colocutaneous fistula is one of the least frequent complications of acute pancreatitis. Two recent cases of this entity are described. Early recognition and prompt treatment are necessary for survival. Treatment should include adequate drainage and fecal diversion. Antibiotics and parenteral nutrition are important adjuncts to treatment. These fistulas are not likely to heal nonoperatively and margins of resection should be wide enough to encompass transverse colon through splenic flexure.
