Abstract

Endometriosis, the abnormal growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity, affects approximately 15% of women but involves the bladder in less than 2% of cases. The majority of patients with vesical endometriosis note suprapubic pressures; hematuria is identified in only 25% of cases. We report a case of endometriosis of the bladder detected by pelvic ultrasonography. This is the first reported case of ultrasonographically detected vesical endometriosis in which urography and cystoscopy were normal.
