Exostosis after iliac bone marrow biopsy

Abstract

Recently, Gilsanz and Grunebaum described a posterior-superior iliac spine lytic lesion in children as a result of marrow biopsy. An exostosis may also develop at the site of an iliac trephine bone marrow biopsy as demonstrated in 2 cases.
