Abstract

Despite the heterogeneity of this group of tumors, progress in the treatment of STS is being made. Novel chemotherapy drugs and dosing regimens, along with advances in radiation delivery schemes are supplementing surgical care that is driven by oncologic principles. Like in other malignancies, the multidisciplinary team approach has proven effective in sarcoma treatment. Collaboration between the oncology disciplines (surgical, medical, and radiation oncologists) is the key to success for this rare but devastating disease.
