Abstract
Hematopoietic stem cells are essential in both autologous and allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation to restore hematopoiesis and immune function following conditioning chemotherapy. These hematopoietic stem cell grafts can be collected via bone marrow harvest, apheresis, or cord blood collection. There are many pros and cons for each graft source, which will be reviewed in this chapter, as well as mobilization, graft manipulation, and cryopreservation.
