Abstract

Hybrid rooms are surgically capable rooms equipped with medical imaging based on coordinate systems. The use of the hybrid room has enabled a wide variety of examinations and procedures to be performed by combining surgery, interventional radiology, and endoscopic procedures, facilitating patient workflow and outcomes. In this chapter, we discuss the definition of instruments in interventional radiology and image-guided surgery, clinical applications in liver surgery, and the prospects of hybrid rooms for combined surgery.
