Abstract
This paper reviews the role of current imaging modalities in the evaluation of infertility as well as recent areas of radiological interest pertaining to this problem. Developments in imaging have led to an increased appreciation of anatomical structures, in addition to the physiological and pathological changes that occur in infertility. Factors contributing to female infertility are subdivided into 5 categories. The optimal imaging methods and their limitations in the evaluation of each category is described. While traditional modalities such as HSG and ultrasound remain the mainstay of imaging methods in the investigation of infertility, technological advances in MR imaging have increased the role of this technique as a problem-solving tool.
