Abstract
The diagnostic evaluation for liver transplantation begins in the preoperative period in identification of the disease processes in the liver, the presence of metastases, and the assessment of variant anatomy.Preoperative imaging is paramount as it allows the determination of candidacy for transplantation and will identify potential difficult anatomy for the transplant team. After liver transplantation, a multi-modality diagnostic approach can be utilized in the assessment of various conditions complicating liver transplantation. Arterial, venous, biliary, and portal venous complications can occur. The initial imaging modality and further diagnostic work up vary based on which system is involved.
