Abstract
The clinical experience with 100 consecutive patients who underwent intra-articular facet block for acute or chronic low back pain is reviewed. It was found that in patients with facet syndrome, prolonged pain relief may result from the intraarticular injection of corticosteroid. Fluoroscopically controlled intraarticular facet arthrography and block is suggested as a reliable technique for diagnosing and treating low back pain due to lumbar facet syndrome.
