N2 - Two cases of primary malignant lymphoma of the thyroid were diagnosed by fine‐needle aspiration biopsy. In addition to morphologic evaluation performed on direct smears, immunophenotyping, flow cytometry, and molecular studies were performed on the aspirated material. These additional studies made a clear distinction between lymphoma and Hashimoto's thyroiditis, which may present a similar cytologic picture.
