Abstract
Bowel surgery is often required in the setting of gynecologic oncology, particularly in patients with advanced ovarian cancer. It is imperative to have a thorough understanding of the presentation, diagnosis, and management of potential complications that may arise after bowel surgery. In this chapter, we offer detailed information regarding management of common complications such as bowel obstruction, anastomotic leaks, and enterocutaneous fistulas. In addition, we provide different strategies to avoid or minimize such complications.
