Abstract

The authors have demonstrated the practicality of using an oestrogen receptor assay as a predictive test for dimethylbenz(a)anthracene (DMBA) induced tumor response to tamoxifen therapy. Although a high oestrogen receptor concentration group failed to respond as fully as expected, the results were such as to suggest that a similar approach in the treatment of human breast cancer may be useful.
