Abstract

Standard pretreatment staging for gastric cancer includes CT of the chest, abdomen, pelvis, endoscopy, and laparoscopy. Although 18F-FDG PET/CT has proven to be a useful staging tool in many cancers, some gastric cancers are not 18F-FDG–avid, and its clinical value in gastric cancer is still debatable. This chapter summarizes the role of F-18 FDG PET/CT in staging and restaging/response assessment.
