Abstract
In order to extend the conventional shell model calculation with harmonic oscillator bases to halo nuclei a self-similar-structure shell model(SSM) in which the single particle orbit has state(orbit)-dependent frequency was proposed. We do this by a rescaling of both the kinetic and potential energy term of the harmonic oscillator and a mean field imitation so that the physical mechanisms of both neutron skin and neutron halo as well as the bound s>".te properties of Borromean nuclei such as 6He, lLi and 14Be can be revealed in SSM.
