Pituitary Gland

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

The sella turcica contains the pituitary gland that can be affected by various neoplastic, infiltrative, infectious, and vascular lesions. These lesions may arise within the pituitary gland or occur via direct extension from adjacent intracranial and extracranial structures and systemic diseases. The diverse pathology of the pituitary gland can have clinical presentations including headache, vision loss, and hormonal imbalance. Thus, imaging plays an essential role in defining the presence and extent of disease.
