Abstract
Primary tuberculosis of the breast is a rare disease. It is uncommon in western countries but has higher incidance in deveoping countries. Differantial diagnosis with other benign and malign diseases of the breast can be difficult with imaging methods because clinical and mammography findings may mimic malignancy, but sonography is useful in some cases. A histological examination is required for definitive diagnosis. Tuberculosis of the breast should be considered in the differantial diagnosis of the patient with clinically suspicious breast lumps in high-risk populations living in endemic areas. Anti-tuberculous therapy with four drugs is the primary choice of treatment in breast tuberculosis. Surgical excision can thus be avoided. Treatment with anti-tuberculous drugs is effective. We reported two female patients with primary tuberculosis of the breast, which clinically simulated carcinoma.
