Abstract
Psychoneuroendocrinology is an interdisciplinary field of research that is at the interface of endocrinology, neuroscience, and psychology. Psychoneuroendocrinology of stress mainly aims at describing and understanding psychological influences on the neuroendocrine systems that are activated by stressors. It also examines the way stress hormones and neuropeptides impact on behavior, cognition, and affect.
