Abstract

Diffusion tensor magnetic resonance imaging (DTMRI) was applied to the three-dimensional reconstruction of ventricular fiber orientation in the rabbit heart at high spatial resolution. Estimates of fiber orientation were interpolated into volumetric models. Reconstructions of cardiac ventricular fiber orientation based on at least an order of magnitude more sampling points that can be achieved using manual reconstruction methods were obtained.
