Recurrent Pleomorphic Adenoma of the Lacrimal Gland (RLGPA)

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

Recurrent mass sharing the same imaging characteristics of the primary lesion including bony erosions/ remodeling. In primary LGPA bone remodeling is smooth second to pressure erosion whereas RLGPA lesions may cause adjacent deep bone erosions and remodeling. These changes do not necessarily imply malignant transformation and are likely to occur second to direct effect of the neoplastic cells on bone formation/destruction. Tends to be multifocal with spreading into the operative field.
