Abstract

Vascular anatomy spans the entire body from head to toe. Knowledge of this complex anatomy is essential for successful diagnosis and interventions related to vascular disease. The purpose of this chapter is to discuss the embryologic development of the vascular system as well as the common arterial and venous anatomy of the head, thorax, abdomen, and extremities. There will also be some discussion regarding a few of the more common vascular anomalies and variants encountered.
