Abstract

The purpose of this report is to review and recommend physics testing of screen-film and digital mammography systems, made by the mammography task group of the Chinese Society of Medical Physics, Taipei. In the screen-film parts, this report largely follows the Mammography Quality Standard Act (MQSA) of the US and the American College of Radiology (ACR) 1999 Mammography Quality Control Manual. They encompass entire aspects of physicists' evaluations of mammographic equipment performance. As in the digital parts, five FDA approved digital mammographic systems from four manufacturers are included. For each digital system, comparisons with the screen-film are made for each testing itmes. In addition, testing items unique to each digital system are summarized in this report.
