Abstract

In addition to the clinical features of RS, the simultaneous and apparently random involvement of two or more joints of the lower extremities without hip disease or spondylitis is characteristic. A scarcity of findings in the upper extremities supports the diagnosis. Characteristic fluffy periostitis, particularly along the plantar aspect of the calcaneus, is still felt to be the most specific finding in Reiter's Syndrome.
