Abstract

Osteopoikilosis is asymptomatic and usually discovered incidentally in radiographs performed for other reasons. Because its roentgenographic appearance is distinctive and the entity is benign, incidental discovery does not warrant further radiography. Knowledge of its presence could be helpful in leading the physician to suspect conditions which have been reported in association with it. Awareness of osteopoikilosis should prevent confusion with other sclerotic lesions of bone, particularly blastic metastases.
