Abstract

In this chapter, the term adnexa is used in relation to uterus (adnexa uteri). The adnexa uteri refer to structures most closely related structurally and functionally to the uterus and include ovaries, fallopian tubes, ligaments, and vasculature. Adnexal pathology constitutes an important etiological factor in patients presenting with pelvic complaints. This chapter discusses the imaging anatomical considerations and focuses on spectrum of imaging findings in various adnexal pathologies (ovarian and non-ovarian) including inflammatory, infectious, and neoplastic with an imaging pattern-based approach to ovarian mass.
