The pancreas

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

Pancreatic pathologies can be focal or diffuse and vary from malignant neoplasms to benign conditions such as congenital anomalies, inflammation, and traumatic lesions. In this chapter, we discuss the anatomy and physiology of the pancreas to improve the reader’s understanding of nonneoplastic, primary, and secondary pancreatic pathologies. This chapter also provides a radiographic approach for evaluating and distinguishing the different types of pancreatic lesions on cross-sectional imaging.
