note = "Funding Information: We have summarized much of the preclinical data and results of clinical trials that demonstrate the potential efficacy of therapy with human:chimeric mAb C225, which blocks activation of EGF receptors. The research has involved scientists in academia and the pharmaceutical industry, and our own contributions involve the work of many collaborators. Our research has been continually supported by grants from the National Cancer Institute. It is highly likely that blockade of EGF receptor mediated signal transduction pathways, in combination with chemotherapy or radiotherapy, will enhance our ability to inhibit and in some cases eradicate many of the common epithelial human malignancies. 68 ",
