Abstract

Small cell prostate carcinoma is a lethal variant of castration-resistant prostate cancer. Beltran and colleagues identified overexpression and amplification of both aurora kinase A (AURKA) and the MYCN protooncogene in the small cell prostate carcinomas and propose Aurora kinase A as a potential therapeutic target in this disease subset.
