Abstract

Tamoxifen is associated with a 2-fold increase in endometrial cancer. Tamoxifen stimulates the growth of human endometrial cancer in athymic mice. Toremifene, like tamoxifen, stimulates endometrial cancer growth in athymic mice. ICI 182,780 does not stimulate endometrial cancer growth in this model. These results suggest that toremifene, but not ICI 182,780, may be associated with an increased incidence of endometrial cancer in humans.
