Abstract
In this chapter, we will explore vulvovaginal melanomas—a group of rare cancers considered mucosal melanomas—from etiology to management of metastatic/recurrent disease. Due to the rarity of these tumors and the lack of scientific and clinical data, vulvovaginal melanomas are often treated as cutaneous melanomas, even though we are uncertain about the appropriateness of this strategy. To better personalize management and to improve the outcomes of these patients, further research within clinical trial settings is warranted.
